Orientation

Orientation is mandatory for all new, transfer, reinstatement and change-of-status F-1 students.

Health Insurance

All international students holding an "F-1" visa and enrolled at HCC will be automatically enrolled in and billed each semester for health insurance coverage under the Student Health Insurance Plan.

Credentials

Students and HCC employees generally need one of two types of foreign evaluations for U.S. equivalency for any education obtained outside of the U.S, if that institution is not accredited by a recognized U.S. accreditor.

Financial Requirements

HCC requires proof of adequate financial support from each student applicant who requests a SEVIS Form I-20.

Optional Practical Training

Optional Practical Training is a specific work authorization granted by the Department of Homeland Security to allow students to obtain training in their field of study.

Curricular Practical Training

CPT is a specific work/training authorization issued by the DSO that allows F-1 students to pursue a part-time employment or training based on academic requirements.
