The Heavy Vehicle, Diesel, and Industrial Technology program at Houston City College prepares students for entry-level careers in Texas’s growing heavy equipment and diesel industries. Students receive hands-on training in diesel engine repair, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance for commercial trucks, buses, industrial machinery, and other heavy-duty vehicles. In addition, we offers specialized training in truck driving and forklift operation, providing students with a well-rounded foundation for careers in the transportation and industrial sectors.

Histologic Technicians (HT) play a vital role in patient diagnosis, treatment, and care. Working in histology labs—where cancer diagnoses are often made, they prepare and analyze tissue samples that help physicians identify diseases.

The Hospitality Administration program at Houston City College prepares students for entry-level management roles across the hospitality industry. Training covers key areas such as front office operations, customer service, marketing, and essential leadership skills for today’s service-driven workplaces.

The Human Service Technology Program prepares students to support individuals, families, and communities through compassionate, skill-based service. This program is approved by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and has been a member of the South Southwest Addiction Technology Transfer Center consortium (SSWATTC) funded by Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) since 1993.

The Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Technology program at Houston City College provides high-quality education and hands-on training in modern instrumentation and control systems. The Interpreting Training / American Sign Language AAS program at Houston City College is a two-year course of study that prepares students for entry-level employment in the interpreting profession. The curriculum builds strong ASL communication skills, cultural understanding, and practical interpreting techniques needed to work with Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in a variety of settings.

The Logistics and Global Supply Chain Management certificate equips students with the technical skills needed for entry-level positions in transportation, warehousing, inventory, and global supply operations.

The AAS in Manufacturing Engineering Technology trains students to become skilled technicians and CNC operators capable of working in a wide range of manufacturing industries.
